10/23/94 The Band Shell, U. Gainesville, FL YEM starts up on the last beat of Halley's (not a true segue, but it is one of
Those Transitions worthy of a > imo). Opening is somewhat sketchy (Trey isn't as tight as usual). The pre-Nirvana section
begins in the typically mysterious and spacey manner, but around 2 mins Trey and Mike start a Vibration of Life. Soon, Trey
says: "...we are now charging you up with the Vibration of Life... People have theorized that the universe actually has a vibration
and that vibration is somewhere around 7 beats per second. So what Mike and I are doing right here we are sending that
vibration out to you and it's gonna get you in tune with the entire universe and then you're gonna start vibrating in tune with the
universe and then we're gonna move on from there. It's a hell of a feeling. Just let it soak right in there.. aaaah..[groan].. yeah I
can feel the vibration.. there it is.. aaah [grunt/groan]." Vibration is still vibrating at around 3:20 (yes, it worked). Nirvana comes
in at 3:58, and it is typically delightful. Mike's solo-section at 4:37 is EVIL and DARRRRRK and SINISTER... ouch. He just
plays a descending lick or two. The pre-charge isn't entirely tight (Trey sounds a bit vague at moments). The jamming around
the first shot at the Note is great, though. The second shot at the Note at 6:41 isn't sustained that well, unfortunately. "Boy" at
7:15 after a somewhat weak scream. During the WUDMTF segment Mike starts teasing, and then playing, "Another One Bites
the Dust." Trey joins in.. Very groovy lil Another One Bites the Dust Jam. Page tools around on the 'clav a bit (it is really all
Mike playing AOBTD, fwiw). Trey comes back in on a WUDMTF line or two. =^] This is the most unsual WUDMTF
segment I've reviewed to date by far, fwiw. It is also the longest.. Trey didn't even utter the "Boy, Man, wash uffizi drive me to
Firenzi" lines. Tramps segment at 10:17, and well, it starts out rather slowly, with Page noodling fairly well (and Mike's signals).
Page really goes off at one point in this ultra-groovy segment.. Mike is funking well, too. Trey comes in at 12:09 noodling a wee
bit, and he teases Mission Impossible at around 12:25ish. Wow.. He repeats the Mission Impossible theme several times,
actually.. before breaking out into a melodious noodling frenzy. At 13:17 he teases "Oye Como Va" briefly (well, hints at it). He
isn't really noodling that dramatically at this point. Mike is really, really funking out, and is actually more impressive. Trey finds a
theme around 13:50, though, and steadily the intensity picks up... Trey finally starts soloing in more typically awesome YEM
fashion, and the jam soars around 16 minutes. Excellent close!! Pushed out quite well!!!! =^] Fantastic closing jam!!!!!! B&D at
16:59 and Mike and Fish just rage out the opening, not letting the intensity die!! Yeah! Fairly groovy and engaging B&D
segment (Trey and Page actually trickle in towards the end..). Closing WUDMTF segment at 18:39. Vocal jam fairly slow at
first, but picks up speed.. I can hear Fish clearly say "Run you bastard" at one point. At 21:18 there are some great Small Furry
Creatures noises.. (lots of laughter and excitement from the audience) Reasonably warped vocal jam.. Total time 22:56. A-/B+
rating for this very awesome YEM!! two cents Elitist.Swine420
