Hi to all phellow Phish listeners-
Before I give a brief review, let me just say that I am new to the net and
am so excited to say hi to everone and also let all of you readers hear
what
an amazing show it was last night. This was also my first headlining
Phish
show :-) :-)
They opened with Runaway Jim and then played Its Ice. After that I get
lost
with the order but there was Lizards, Sparkle, Chalk Dust Torture and
Stash.
They ended the set with David Bowie. The second set was Dinner & A Movie,
Bouncin', Esther, Hall is Solace, Hydrogen and closed with Possum. The
encore was Contact and Good Times Bad Times. Obviously there is a lot
that I
am missing, and if any of it is wrong please correct it... For my first
full
show I was amazed. I thought that they sounded great. In the second set
they
did some jam with three big beach balls that was really cool. There was a
balcony and a main floor and the people on the main floor kept on trying
to
get the balls up to the balcony...is this making any sense?? Anyway it
was
a great night and I can't wait till NYE!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
.....Nicole

We must mourn for the loss of a Big Ball. During the Big Ball
jam Friday night, some folks in the first ten rows(all apparently
from the same fraternity house) got ahold of a fast-deflating
Big Ball and brought it to a dreary end. You can now find the ball
hanging in some local frat house. I saw the other two Balls back
stage after the show and they took a real beating. The jam lasted
forever, and the crowd finally managed to get one of the balls
into the balcony, which sent the Theatre into howls of excitement.
The band got tired of playing, and Trey, Mike, and the stage guy
(I always forget his name) formed a circle, then the crowd finally
moved them over and shot baskets with them. It was fun, but a
little on the long side. I wonder if this means the end of the
Big Ball jam?-Brian

ps- I just remembered something. The Ann Arbor show was the
last show for Mark and Dana from Greenpeace, and it was also
Dana's birthday, so instead of singing David Bowie, they
   sang "Dana Berie(sp?)"
