sorry for losing the list, cause i am kinda of pissed at my self for
losing
it in the first place.

scene: the state theatre in kalamazoo is the best place for a show.
a totally ornate place, there are clouds on the ceiling that move during
the show (no i was not stoned, they actually did move...)
the theatre looks like it stepped out of the disneyland in florida.
totally cool, but totally disney!!!!!

people: not that i have seen alot of shows or anything,,,,but everyobdy
seemed to be there for their first time. very few people seemed to
recognizr stuff from junta i.e. fee and YEM.

HELLO TO BEN AND JERRY: from loyola chicago, jer, hope your italian
final went well!!!

OVERALL IMPRESSIONS: totally hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the first set totally kicked ass, golgi to start with!!!! and kept on
smokin the entire set. i personally thought that the first set was mind
expanding!!!!!!!
second set was really nice. YEM and suzi greenberg were the definite
highlites.
yes, they did have trampolines for YEM. (maybe it was just me, but i
think
that i was the only person the recognize YEM. the place was really quiet
the
entire song until the end. tell you the truth it was like that for Tela
as
well. ayway...)
if the tape is available get it!!!!!!!!!

tapes: anyone from east landing michigan on the net, please goto
in-flight and
get it and then form a tree so i can get it ;-)

i hope this was coherent enough, but i had a great time!!!!! the music
was
hot!!!!! the scene was cool!!!!!!

CAN'T WAIT FOR ANN AROBR TONIGHT!!!!! I CAN WALK THERE!!!!!!!!

PEACE.....bjpc

Wow!!! With my ears still ringing and my adrenaline still
pumping, I wanted to send a quick review of tonight's show before I hit
the sack. I'll let Brian Feller have the honors of posting the set list
(besides, I didn't write it down), but below are some personal
highlights:

First, the State Theater in Kalamazoo was a treat in its self! It was a
small, very intimate venue, with a pretty good sized dance floor and not
too eagle-eyed security staff (they seemed to look the other way in the
rather obvious presence of doobage). Did any one else notice the little
stars that dotted the ceiling? They really looked like stars when the
lights were off! Basically, it was a great place to see a show.
Only one criticism of the venue: The sound in the place wasn't all that
good. Maybe it was were I was (close to the front on Page's side), but
it was difficult to hear Trey's guitar clearly sometimes. In spite of
this though, the band was definitely on. They all seemed to be into the
scene, the crowd, and the venue.

Songs (in random order) that really stood out:

Reba: What can I say? Trey can really play!
YEM: Same as above, but with even more emphasis.
Maze: I really like this song a lot! Tonight's jam was particularly
        spectacular
Tweezer Reprise: What a way to end the show!
Vacuum Solo: Most excellent. I was standing right in front of the Bass
speakers in front of the stage, and my whole body was
being vibrated by the low notes (I know that may sound
strange, but it was fun at the time)
Ball Jam: the first time I have seen this. Great idea.

I could go on and on, but I have got to get some sleep. This show
was definitely worth the 200+ mi. round trip through the snow!!!!! I
can't wait till tomorrow night (Ann Arbor), but I am not sure how it can
top tonight's show.
See you all tomorrow at Espresso Royale before the show!!

                                        I am so happy!
                                                --Jonah :-)

 Show review:
A very fine show indeed. There wasn't the group energy
level that was present at Chicago, and maybe it was because
there were still a few hundred tickets still on sale at show
time. It appeared that a large part of this crowd had never
seen Phish before, so at first it was mellow, but after Golgi
then LLama then Foam, you couldn't beg someone to sit down.
The State Theater is an amazing place. The architecture on
the inside of the place makes you think you're standing in
some midieval Spanish village, and the ceiling is painted as
the night sky, complete with lighted stars and moving wispy
clouds! It is truly at nice place. The band remarked that is
was the nicest venue on the tour so far. Plus they had Bells
Amber Ale, which comes from a local Kalamazoo brewery, and
is some of the finest beer around.
Foam was amazing, and I realize why they like to play it
so much, you can take that middle jam anywhere! I can't think
of much else about set I, except that Fishman's breast plate
solo during I Didn't Know was killer. Reba was killer(I have
never seen a bad one), and it took a while to get the crowd
to quiet down for Adeline.
Set II was really sweet. They are playing Rift a lot lately
and it is getting better and tighter as they do it more. Last
nights version was extremely tight. The jam in Tweezer started
off very mediocre, then they decided to do something completely
different, and brought it down to a spacey jam, and the song
concluded with a different ending than the usual weirdness, and
floated right into Tela. The Big Ball Jam lasted a long time,
and by the end it was one ball and the whole band was jamming
on that ball. Someone grabbed it and held on to it, shaking it,
which produced great sounds from the band. Maze was once again
smokin', with a nice long organ solo(Ilove that sound!). At
the jam section of You Enjoy Myself, they did something that I've
never seen or heard. INstead of the whole band playing while
Trey took his solo, Mike and Page dropped out, and Trey walked
in front of Fish's drums for a Fish/Trey duet! It was superb.
Trey really went off against the drums. Then Mike and Page did
a duet that was equally as cool, then a bass solo, then the
vocal jam. Very nice indeed. At the end of Honey Love You, which
had a vacuum solo, Fish took a running leap into the audience
(there would be more stage diving at the end of Tweezer Reprise
by the crowd)! What a madman. He severely ripped his Captain
Zero dress. Axis was a surprise, and Trey said it was a request
from Bob, the guy who drives the equipment truck. Well, this has
definitley been long enough, so I'll see you tomorrow.
