YEEEAAAAIIIIIGHHHH!!!! I MET TREY!!!!!!!!!

sorry, had to pop that in. just in from the PHISH/santana show at
merriwether
post pavilion, columbia MD. set list:

Chalkdust Torture
Sparkle
Stash
Squirming Coil
Maze
Bouncing Round the Room
Runaway Jim

hot hot hot! trey's guitar sang like no other, and he had this Eat Me grin
on
his face the entire show... page was cookin' at the end of Coil, no doubt
about
it... hehehehe... big Phish crowd at this show, it was AWESOME. they could
headline at Merriwether, i must say...

an aside: i had no writing implements with which to put down the setlist,
and i was desperately trying to think of how to remember it, when i
suddenly
remembered an old word association trick i learned in high school. so this
is
how i remembered the setlist (pick out the relevant items!):

"The chalkdust sparkled on the stash of the squirming coil's maze
as he bounced around the room after runaway jim."

just thought i'd force that on ya. we managed to sneak up front for about
half
of their set before we were sent back to our seats by security (nothing as
bad
as the nazi fascist Lisner types), and then Phish pretty much beat it off
stage after they were done.

santana came on and all there really is to say is they have a not so bad
percussion section... but... nothing to write home about.

BUT... we were sitting at the end of our section and i idly looked over
and
suddenly saw trey coming out... so i whacked steve and pointed, and we
made off at top speeds to say hi... in the middle of Black Magic Woman - i
think this is a sign. but anyway. that's my big moment of the week, and
i'll be glowing for
the next six days or so...

heigh-dee-ho to steve "santa" newton and to dave "missed 'em all, damnit"
mccallum! i'll run into the both of youse in assorted venues, i suspect.

one last note... good for phish, bad for me - every place around here is
absolutely positively bone-dry sold out of Picture of Nectar and Lawnboy.
this
is VERY frustrating.

peace among the phishes,
amie
